Pre-Kindergarten

This program is designed for children four years of age. This program is more structured than the nursery class. The emphasis is on reading/ writing and math readiness skills and also science and social studies. The pre-kindergarten curriculum uses the Modern Curriculum Press phonics and level one reading books, along with Spectrum Phonics. Kid writing journals and sight words are also part of the reading/ writing program. The pre-kindergarten curriculum uses Total Math, from the American Educational Publishing Company and also the Spectrum Math series. Time is also provided for free play, art, music, motor skills, and social interaction. |
Daily schedule
6:30 – 9:00 a.m. – children arrive/free play
9:15 – 9:30 a.m. – pledge of allegiance and patriotic songs
9:30 – 9:45 a.m. – Language Arts- (Monday thru Friday)
9:45 – 10:15 a.m. – Reading/ Phonics (Monday thru Friday)
10:15 – 10:30 a.m. – Fine Arts (Monday thru Friday)
10:30 – 11:00 a.m. – Math (Monday thru Friday)
11:00 - 11:15 a.m. – Science (Monday & Thursday)
*Gross Motor (Tuesday & Wednesday)
Social Studies (Friday)
11:15 a.m. – noon – *Lunch/free play time
Noon – 2:30 p.m. – rest time
2:30 – 2:45 p.m. – snack time
2:45 – 3:00 p.m. – *free play time
3:00 – 5:00 p.m. – *learning centers
5:00 - 5:30 p.m. - *video time
5:30 – 6:00 p.m. – *quiet time activities
